Immunohistochemistry in Difficult Hepatobiliary Lesions: What Can Brown Do For You?

Speaker: Andrew Bellizzi

Description: At the end of the session, participants will be able to:

•              Apply a problem-based approach to liver tumor diagnosis utilizing appropriate IHC/ISH/histochemistry/molecular diagnostics to answer these 4 questions:

o             Did they sample the lesion?

o             I know it’s hepatocellular; is it malignant?

o             I know it’s malignant; is it hepatocellular

o             I know it’s conventional adenocarcinoma; is it intrahepatic cholangiocarcinoma?

•              Utilize a morphologic and targeted immunohistochemical approach to hepatic adenoma typing

•              Describe the morphologic, immunophenotypic, and molecular genetic distinctions between small and large duct intrahepatic cholangiocarcinoma
